Description
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead vendor oversight and internal coordination for our late-stage clinical program. This role will serve as a central point of coordination across external vendors and internal functions, helping ensure that work is aligned, timelines are integrated, dependencies are managed, and issues are addressed promptly.
The Senior Manager will build strong working relationships with vendor teams and internal stakeholders, and will support effective alliance management across the program. The role requires a blend of clinical project management, vendor governance, and cross-functional coordination to keep complex, multi-vendor work moving toward program and study milestones.
Here's how you will contribute:
· Lead day-to-day oversight and coordination of vendors supporting the late-stage program, working with functional owners to track deliverables, timelines, risks, and performance.
· Serve as a central coordination point across vendors and internal teams, helping clarify ownership, align activities, and resolve handoffs and dependencies.
· Establish and maintain integrated program and vendor timelines, tracking milestones, critical-path activities, interdependencies, and changes that may affect delivery.
· Coordinate cross-functional and vendor meetings, including agendas, pre-reads, decisions, action items, and follow-up.
· Support the alliance management function by building effective working relationships, enabling clear communication, and helping resolve operational issues across company and vendor teams.
· Partner with Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Management, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Safety, Quality, Finance, and other relevant functions to align vendor work with program needs.
· Monitor vendor deliverables and service levels against agreed plans; identify gaps early and coordinate corrective actions with internal owners and vendor leads.
· Maintain visibility of key risks, issues, decisions, assumptions, and dependencies; escalate matters requiring leadership attention with clear context and proposed next steps.
· Support governance forums and program reviews by preparing concise status updates, dashboards, and recommendations.
· Coordinate change control and scope updates with internal stakeholders and vendors, assessing impacts on timelines, resources, and study execution.
· Promote consistent ways of working across vendors, including meeting cadence, reporting, escalation pathways, and documentation.
· Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying coordination gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve vendor collaboration and program delivery.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
· Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, project management, or a related field; advanced degree or project management certification is a plus.
· 8+ years of experience in clinical operations, clinical project management, vendor management, or alliance management within the biopharmaceutical or clinical research industry.
· 3+ years of experience managing late-stage clinical studies, clinical vendors, or complex cross-functional workstreams.
· Experience coordinating vendors and cross-functional teams supporting late-stage clinical studies or complex development programs.
· Demonstrated ability to manage integrated timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues across multiple workstreams.
· Familiarity with clinical trial operations and the roles of common clinical service providers, such as CROs, central laboratories, imaging providers, and technology vendors.
· Experience facilitating vendor governance meetings and maintaining productive relationships across organizational boundaries.
· Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to turn complex updates into clear status, decisions, and actions.
· Sound judgment in identifying emerging risks, coordinating solutions, and escalating issues at the right time.
· Ability to influence without direct authority and to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
· Comfort working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and changing program needs.
Who Will Love This Job:
The successful candidate is organized, collaborative, and accountable. They create clarity across teams, follow through on commitments, and build constructive relationships with vendors and internal partners. They can maintain a program-level view while staying close enough to operational details to spot coordination risks early and keep work progressing.
