DESCRIPTION

The Senior QA Analyst leads efforts to maintain and enhance software quality. This involves driving the quality assurance lifecycle within Agile frameworks, establishing testing strategies in collaboration with development and product teams, and implementing comprehensive test plans and cases. They play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding QA team members, contributing to the development and execution of automated tests for mobile and web applications, and ensuring continuous integration flows are maintained. They will need to complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor.

QA Tasks:

• Review design specifications to understand the software product's scope, requirements, and functionality.

• Create, modify and maintain test cases required for all aspects of testing.

• Conducts testing to ensure that a product is performing according to user requirements and within established guidelines.

• Monitor, manage and report bugs using bug tracking tools such as JIRA.

• Ability to monitor logs, understand the issues and provide appropriate status reports on a daily basis.

Operational Collaboration:

• Work closely with Manager and Product Managers to identify use cases and set appropriate priorities for assigned tasks.

• Provide testing results and reports to Manager and Product Managers.

• Work closely with other QA teams and developers (internal and external) to ensure that all aspects of the system have proper testing coverage.

• Ability to work on multiple products or tasks simultaneously as per priority.

• Coordinate testing with different offices and teams.

• Support the members of the Solutions and Technology Content/Documentation teams with use case analysis and documentation, investigation and troubleshooting and related tasks.

Management:

• Initiate and maintain communication with stakeholders and manage expectations.

• Ensure overall system reliability, performance and quality.

• Create Test Plan for the software release, defining resources and test suites required for each test cycle, dependencies, risks and the overall strategy for testing complex systems or applications.

• Drive the development and documentation of new processes and take ownership of providing support and training to colleagues from other teams.

• Own and drive larger initiatives, including defining milestones and deliverables and progress reporting.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Skillsets:

• Excellent knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, processes and ability to work in an Agile lifecycle.

• Excellent ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of experience in Software Testing.

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

• Experience testing REST APIs using postman.

• Excellent analysis and autonomous problem discovery and solving skills.

• Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Testiny.

• Experience with Jenkins and Bitbucket

• Excellent knowledge of databases and content management systems.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of Unix commands, NoSQL and familiarity with MongoDB would be an added advantage.

• Experience in automated testing of APIs is an added advantage.

• Experience with mobile app testing is an added advantage.

• Initiate and monitor load tests, make adjustments for scalability, functionality, and usability.

• Research, develop and test third party applications and solutions on Linux, Mac and Windows.

• A set of well-grounded skills relating to at least three of the following: Linux, NoSQL Databases, Globalization/Translation Memory Systems, JavaScript, Automation Tools (Playwright) or RESTful APIs.
