Deputy Engineering Manager – Seat Structure

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end Seat Structure product development (design, build, validation) as per PDP.
• Translate customer requirements into compliant design solutions considering cost, quality, safety, manufacturability, and regulations.
• Apply engineering tools and methodologies (QFD, FMEA, DOE, VA/VE, DFM/DFA) for design optimization and analysis.
• Plan, track, and execute design activities aligned with open issues and project timelines.
• Develop and manage engineering deliverables (DVP&R, GD&T, BOM, specifications, engineering changes, work orders).
• Ensure timely closure of engineering issues and completion of PDP deliverables with phase-gate reviews.
• Review and approve designs, drawings, and engineering changes to meet design intent and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the design team.
• Manage testing, validation, and homologation activities; support failure analysis (ICA/PCA).
• Prepare key customer deliverables such as SORs and present engineering deliverables (e.g., CCDR).
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of product development processes and PDP execution.

• Proficiency in engineering documentation (GD&T, BOM, DVP&R, change management).
• Hands-on experience with engineering analysis and problem-solving tools (FMEA, DOE, etc.).
• Ability to manage priorities, resolve technical issues, and meet project timelines.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.

Qualification, Experience & Skills and Competencies:

(Min & Max, industry) : 8-12 Years, Diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical/production/Automobile Engineering
