We are now looking for a Field Service Specialist who will be responsible for delivering on-site and remote field service support, maintenance services, technical advisory, and backup support to board and paper mill customers. In this role, you will contribute to safe and high-quality service execution, annual shutdowns, troubleshooting, audits, alignment work, maintenance development, customer training, and technical-commercial follow-up to support the growth of Valmet’s field service business.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute field service assignments, including maintenance support, shutdown execution, installation support, commissioning support, corrective actions, inspections, audits and troubleshooting.
Supervise and lead Field Service technician teams.
Provide expert on-site support and advisory guidance to customer maintenance teams and third-party contractors, ensuring work is carried out safely, correctly, and in accordance with Valmet recommendations and specifications.
Lead mechanical condition assessments, alignment checks, operational observations, audits, and technical reviews.
Plan and schedule maintenance and shutdown services, define the scope of responsibilities and technical specifications, support FSE Sales process.
Prepare high-quality service reports covering performed work, findings, identified faults, safety observations, delays, recommendations, spare parts requirements, future maintenance actions, and potential business opportunities.
Support commercial development by identifying service opportunities, upgrades, spare parts needs, maintenance plan activities, and technical scope extensions during and after site assignments.
Present technical findings and improvement recommendations to customer stakeholders at both operational and management levels, including supervisors, maintenance managers, production managers, plant managers, and project managers.
Coordinate on-site activities with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, internal experts, and service coordination teams.
Maintain field service tools, documentation, and site readiness requirements while ensuring compliance with Valmet’s quality, health, safety, environmental, and management system standards.
What We Expect:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Ability to supervise contractors and coordinate field activities.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively.
Experience in paper and board machine technology and/or field services
Experience in customer-facing technical reporting and presenting recommendations.
Experience in technical-commercial follow-up, identifying business opportunities, and supporting quotations.
Experience working in multinational or regional support environments.
Strong customer focus and the ability to build trust and long-term relationships on site.
High level of ownership and accountability.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international and cross-functional teams.
