EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Youth Soccer Field Supervisor, Temporary Part-Time
OPENS: July 15, 2026

CLOSES: Open until filled 
HOURS: 3 hours to 24 hours a week during August through beginning of November

Training dates for this opportunity are in August

SALARY:      $20.75 - $ 21.75 per hour depending on experience

Description: Under direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, Youth Soccer Field Supervisors are responsible for facilitating soccer practices and observing the youth soccer spectators, officials and youth soccer league August through the beginning of November.  Youth soccer practices are primarily Monday-Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm and games are primarily Saturdays 9am-7:00pm with some weeknight games.

Qualifications: The position requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Applicants must pass a position relevant background check.

Example of Duties: Youth Soccer Field Supervisor duties include the ability to:

Control practices and games in a confident and appropriate manner

Ensure all participants comply with league rules

Remove any unauthorized individuals and/or groups

Communicate with on-site security

Assist in emergency procedures

Make sure teams have appropriate equipment, etc.

Keep records including, but not limited to, incident/accident reports, timecards, and communication with the Recreation Supervisor.

Other duties as assigned

AGE REQUIREMENTS:  Must be 18 years of age or older by August 1, 2026

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear.  The incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a field environment; may be exposed to individuals who are difficult; and may be required to travel to different sites.  Work is usually performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.  Incumbent is subject to irregular work schedules including weekdays, weekends and evenings.

Temporary employees with the City of Kent do not receive insurance or time off benefits outside of those which are legally mandated. In certain instances, temporary employees may be eligible for retirement benefits through the State of Washington’s Department of Retirement Systems.
