Description
The Electrical Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily electrical assembly operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met. This hands-on role provides technical guidance to electrical assemblers, coordinates work assignments, troubleshoots wiring issues, and ensures that production goals are achieved in alignment with customer and engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate a team of electrical assemblers to complete wiring and panel build tasks per production schedules and work orders.
- Interpret and train team members on electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build documentation.
- Perform hands-on assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting of electrical components, control panels, and harnesses as needed.
- Ensure all electrical work meets company quality standards and complies with relevant electrical codes (e.g., NEC).
- Monitor team performance, efficiency, and output; identify and resolve bottlenecks or quality concerns.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production supervisors to address design or build issues.
- Assist in training new team members on wiring techniques, safety protocols, and assembly procedures.
- Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical assembly area.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and workstations in safe and functional condition.
- Complete and verify documentation such as checklists, work instructions, and inspection reports.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment, with 1+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC circuits, grounding, panel wiring, and industrial control systems.
- Hands-on experience with wiring tools, test meters, and safety practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred) and basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work with hands for extended periods.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and use hand and power tools.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment conditions including noise, heat, and electrical components.
