About the job
Cronos Europa is looking for a Nutanix Migration Specialist to support a project for the European Parliament. This is a short-term consulting assignment offering an attractive compensation package for an experienced professional. The selected consultant will provide high-level expertise in the design and definition of a Nutanix-based platform, supporting architecture, automation, provisioning, and disaster recovery initiatives. Services will be performed primarily remotely. On-site presence may be required at European Parliament premises when justified by project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define platform baseline standards for Nutanix AHV environments, including compute, storage, networking, and security principles.
- Establish operational practices covering lifecycle management, monitoring, and governance.
- Design Linux provisioning approaches using technologies such as cloud-init and automation platforms (e.g. Ansible).
- Define VM templates, image preparation standards, and integration with configuration management tools.
- Develop disaster recovery strategies leveraging Nutanix capabilities, including failover scenarios and recovery procedures.
- Define integration patterns with enterprise backup, monitoring, and logging solutions.
- Identify automation opportunities and recommend operational workflows.
- Review proposed architectures against industry best practices.
- Assess risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities, providing recommendations for future implementation phases.
Profile requirements
- Proven experience with Nutanix AHV architecture and operations.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, virtualization, and enterprise platforms.
- Experience defining Linux provisioning and automation frameworks.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery concepts, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
- Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with monitoring, logging, and backup solutions.
- Ability to produce architectural recommendations, technical assessments, and design documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Desired Assets
- Experience within EU Institutions or other large public-sector organizations.
- Knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise governance, security, and operational frameworks.
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder international environments.
- Relevant Nutanix certifications.
