Pipelayer
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal
Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week
Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation

Requirements:
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Pre-employment:
- Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
- Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Pipelayer Responsibilities:
- Directs activities within the trench to ensure the pipe is laid to the designed vertical and horizontal tolerances using levels or lasers.
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding, cementing or sealing with glue.
- Monitors backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support.
- Install and repair sanitary and storm water, sewer structures and pipe systems.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Pipelayer Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a pipelayer.
- Responsible for assembling, connecting and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains and water mains.
- Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue.
