The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the Operations Team at the Spring City facility and delivering results following Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards. It is critical that the Operations Manager champion a positive plant culture, and act as a change agent for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building highly capable teams that produce gains in efficiency, productivity, and quality, with a lean manufacturing mindset. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, sales and support functions to drive continuous improvement in quality, on-time delivery, cost and new product development.

DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Leverage technical and practical understanding of manufacturing, process flow, EHS and quality systems, and customer service. Bring a “hands-on” mentality to the role, which includes spending substantial time on the plant floor working with the operations team leading all production processes.
- Build effective relationships and provide leadership to cross-functional teams including EHS, operations, maintenance, customer service and quality driving continuous improvement required to meet production goals.
- Lead strategy deployment for the operations team concentrating on operational excellence and lean.
- Execute the production plan in accordance with customer demand and agreed upon safety stock for WIP and finished goods inventory.
- Understand & lead the incident investigation process with supervisors for any EHS incidents using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
- Develop a team of supervisors through effective coaching, training and mentoring; identify skill and resources gaps, set goals and conduct performance reviews.
- Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives from idea development through full implementation on the production floor.
- Lead root cause analysis, create corrective action plans and monitor control measures for all quality escalations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on staff planning, hiring, and training.
- Develop systems, metrics and processes that track and optimize productivity.
Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the textile industry.
- Minimum of 3-5 years managing hourly and salaried employees.
- Proven track record of implementing Lean, Six Sigma concepts (including Kaizen events) and/or continuous improvement. Work history includes tangible examples of improvement in productivity, efficiency, or inventory management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent experience, preferred; textile experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to interface with and effectively communicate with a broad range of customers, cross-functional teams, and executive management.
- Proficient in fundamental business systems (MS 365) and experience with production management systems (ERP).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Quality management experience is a plus.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE, CLASSIFICATION & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is an on-site, full-time, exempt position at the Spring City, PA facility.
- The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch.
- Department demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work schedule.
POSITION TYPE:
This role is a manager of people and processes. You will lead teams while optimizing operational performance to achieve organizational goals.
TRAVEL:
This position may be required to occasionally travel to other Davlyn sites.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Temperature-controlled office environment.
- A fluctuation in temperature when on the production floor, especially in the summer months, as the facility is not air conditioned.
- Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas.
