Director of Marketing
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
Location: This position is open on a national remote basis. Candidates based in the greater Salt Lake City area are strongly preferred and will be expected to work in the office once hired.
Meet Connor Group
Connor Group is built for breakthroughs. We are a professional services firm focused on the toughest challenges facing ambitious companies. We serve the offices of the CFO, CIO/CTO, and CHRO across finance, accounting, M&A, IPOs, and a wide range of digital solutions, including AI.
Founded in 2006, we became the leading IPO advisory firm. That work built a pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach and $4.0T in client valuation. Today, more than 2,000 of the most exciting brands on earth trust us to deliver results that last.
The role
The Director of Marketing is the senior marketing leader for our priority markets, solutions, and industries. You will set and run the field marketing strategy that gets the right people to our events and puts our best thinking in front of them. You will work shoulder to shoulder with Business Development and our Partners, as well as a talented group of brand, content, and operations marketers.
What you will own
Field marketing for priority markets, solutions, and industries. Build annual plans with the CMO, Partners, and Business Development for high-priority markets, aligned to growth targets.
The team of leaders across other focus areas. Coach and grow the marketing leaders for other key markets. Guide their execution and their careers. Set and refine systems and ways of working that make their efforts effective, consistent, and scalable.
Ideal Client Profile definitions and marketing inputs to pipeline. Own the process alongside Revenue Operations. Make sure we know our ideal customers well, and the signals that demonstrate their intent. Own grading, lead scoring, and ensuring our ICP and workflows work efficiently and deliver sales.
Performance and event or campaign ROI. Report results to the CMO, Partners, and firm leadership. Sharpen how we measure campaigns and attribution in Salesforce.
Event strategy and execution. Drive the work that fills the room with the right buyers and execute key events flawlessly
Campaigns and thought leadership strategy. Design hard-hitting digital campaigns. Guide the team and our subject-matter experts to produce content that is worth people's time.
Focus area budgets. Plan high-efficiency spend, track it, and partner with Marketing Operations to ensure accuracy. Think about these budget investments in terms of their output, not just their cost.
AI implementation for field marketing. Reimagine the work leveraging agents and a host of AI tools available at Connor Group.
Why you will want this role
Own a large, high-quality events program. We put on exceptional events around AI, IPOs, and Private Equity hosted in places like the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.
Leverage a solid AI foundation. Use Claude Cowork and related MCP connections to multiple apps, as well as AI point solutions to do the work better and faster (in that order).
Win and support clients you already know. OpenAI, Uber, Liquid Death, Coinbase, Duolingo, and HubSpot, among many others.
Receive benefits that support real life. Hybrid and onsite work, flexible time off, complete healthcare, a company-match 401K, and paid parental and military leave.
What we are looking for
7+ years in B2B marketing, with 3+ years formally leading people required.
5+ years of event marketing experience required, including personal responsibility for large signature events.
General Salesforce skills and specific lead processing experience required.
Consulting, technology, or professional services experience preferred.
A business education is preferred, though deep experience can substitute for it.
Sharp attention to detail is mandatory.
A Multiplier-style leader who makes the whole team smarter (Multipliers).
What success looks like in your first year
Events people are glad they attended, with the strong ICP-fit buyers in the room and high-value, audience-friendly touch points before, during, and after.
Campaigns that are well segmented, well timed, and tied to business outcomes.
New qualified leads, a healthy lead-to-opportunity conversion rate, and revenue you can trace.
Compensation
$125,000 - $200,000, depending on experience and location
15% bonus target; achievement is based on firm and individual performance
