Field Technician - Coatings Inspector

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to conduct thorough coating inspections on various construction projects.
• Complete detailed field inspection reports and document findings accurately.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college education or construction-related experience is a plus.

Work Week:

• Full-Time, including some nights and weekends

Responsibilities: • Produce written inspection reports, approve satisfactory plans, issue permits, and issue stop-work orders and violation notices when needed • Conduct land surveys to determine leveling, alignment, and elevation of structures on worksites • Oversee construction activities and conformance to general public safety standards throughout all phases of construction at building sites • Create accurate and detailed daily logs and photos for inspection recordkeeping • Analyze blueprints and building plans to be sure they meet contract specifications, local building code ordinances, electrical code safety standards, and zoning regulations Qualifications: • Requires a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record • Certification as a building inspector through the International Code Council (ICC)or similar association is highly preferred, but not required • 2-3 years of construction industry experience is desired working with construction trades as a plumbing inspector, real estate home inspector, or mechanical inspector • Understanding of zoning regulations, construction methods, inspection techniques, and state and local safety regulations and ordinances is needed • A high school diploma is required - some college or technical education is attractive in the area of building inspection technology, engineering, construction management, or construction technology
