Description
We are growing our Customer Intelligence Unit and have multiple opportunities available on our BaaS team.
We’re considering candidates across three experience levels: CIU BaaS Consultant, CIU BaaS Consultant II, and CIU BaaS Consultant III.
You do not need to determine which level to apply for. We’ll consider your relevant experience, demonstrated capabilities, and the scope and complexity of work you’ve performed to determine the appropriate level for the position.
Job Summary
The Customer Intelligence Unit (CIU) BaaS Consultant performs risk-based KYC, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and transaction analysis for customers requiring centralized or heightened review, with a significant focus on Banking-as-a-Service programs and Fintech partners.
In this role, you’ll assess customers across industries, products and services, geographies, transaction volumes, ownership structures, and other risk factors; review referrals from FIU, CIU, Quality Assurance, and business partners; and document clear, defensible risk conclusions.
Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities may include:
- Perform risk-based customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and transaction analysis for Core, BaaS, and Fintech customers.
- Analyze information across due diligence sources, including CIP, beneficial ownership, CDD/EDD, sanctions screening, vendor databases, negative news, transactional activity, partner information, and other relevant data.
- Assess customer risk by considering ownership and control structures, source and use of funds, transaction behavior, counterparties, geographic exposure, products and services, expected activity, and other relevant risk indicators.
- Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, unusual activity, emerging risks, and other matters requiring additional analysis or escalation.
- Develop clear, comprehensive, and defensible risk conclusions based on the information and evidence available.
- Evaluate customer risk ratings, due diligence conclusions, and supporting information in accordance with established methodologies.
- Prepare specialized due diligence review narratives, risk recommendations, referrals, escalations, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Fintech partners, FIU, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders to obtain information, investigate findings, and support consistent application of specialized due diligence requirements.
- Identify and escalate recurring issues, data-quality concerns, process breakdowns, or potential control weaknesses identified through customer reviews.
- At more experienced levels, independently manage complex or escalated customer reviews and provide technical guidance and calibration support to less-experienced consultants.
Opportunities Across Multiple Levels
CIU BaaS Consultant
Foundational Execution | Typically 2-4 years of relevant experience
At this level, you'll develop proficiency in specialized due diligence and risk-based customer reviews while working within established procedures. You'll analyze customer and financial information, identify discrepancies and risk factors, document fact-based conclusions, and escalate nonstandard situations as appropriate.
CIU BaaS Consultant II
Independent Analysis | Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience
At this level, you'll work more independently on specialized due diligence and transaction analysis, including higher-volume and higher-risk customer populations. You'll resolve data and documentation gaps, evaluate customer risk and activity, develop defensible risk rationales, and collaborate across teams to address identified concerns.
CIU BaaS Consultant III
Advanced Risk Assessment | Typically 6-8 years of relevant experience
At this level, you'll independently own more complex, high-risk, high-volume, nonroutine, or escalated reviews.
