Physician Assistant - Geriatrics

SUMMARY

As a Physician Assistant in Geriatrics, you’ll provide comprehensive care to older adults across nursing home, assisted living, and independent living settings. You’ll manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions while developing meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.

LOCATION: Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities throughout the Rochester Area
DEPARTMENT: Geriatrics
SCHEDULE: Days, Monday-Friday, No Weekends or Call

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patient Care. Provide primary and acute care to older adults, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and follow-up
• Geriatric Care. Manage acute and chronic conditions across nursing home, assisted living, and independent living settings
• Collaboration. Partner with physicians, nursing, facility staff, and other members of the care team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Care Management. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as appropriate, and maintain timely and accurate documentation

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - NYS Office of Professions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE:

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00Rochester14626

The posted pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for this position. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates could vary based on position details and FTE. Pay is determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, locations, and contracts.
