About the Organization
Read Better Be Better is a nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, founded in 2014 as a response to the state's literacy crisis. Our mission is to equip youth with the skills to read and lead. Our vision is a world in which empowered communities demand equitable access to foundational skills. Our values are simple - Be Excellent, Be Kind!
A Day as RBBB's Program Specialist
The Program Specialist helps keep Read Better Be Better's K-12 programs organized, efficient, and ready to serve students and communities. Working closely with the Program Director, program staff, school districts, and community partners, this role coordinates administrative processes, maintains program data and records, manages inventory and purchasing, and supports the preparation and distribution of program materials.
Your day may begin by coordinating partnership agreements, updating tracking systems, following up with school and community partners, or organizing documentation to keep important deadlines on track. You'll help ensure agreements, records, and program information are accurate, complete, and accessible to the staff who need them.
Throughout the week, you'll manage program supplies and inventory, coordinate vendor orders, and oversee the preparation of materials for program activities and events. From assembling program wagons and graduation boxes to coordinating deliveries and end-of-term returns, you'll help ensure program teams have the materials they need, when they need them.
You'll also support recurring program data updates, maintain organized storage areas, and coordinate staff or volunteer assistance with larger materials projects. When questions, delays, or discrepancies arise, you'll help identify the issue, coordinate follow-up, and bring matters requiring additional direction to the Program Director.
Through your organization, coordination, and attention to detail, you help RBBB's program teams spend less time managing logistics and more time delivering meaningful literacy and leadership experiences to youth.
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Please contact [email protected].
