Job Description:
The Brazil Payroll consultant is responsible for the end-to-end process of the Brazil Legal entities Payroll process and every related process. The population in these payroll fluctuates between 500 to 650 employees and although the calculation process is performed by an external payroll provider, the Payroll consultant is responsible for the relationship and controls required for the payroll processing with this provider, as well as the liaison of the different local and external stakeholders i.e employees, benefits administrators, HR administrators, Compensation administrators, external vendors, Finance, internal and external auditors among others.
This position reports directly to the SVP Service Delivery Manager for LATAM and Canada, and coordinates with the SVP Human Resources for LATAM and Canada and works in coordination with the local HR team. The position is to be filled in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Roles and responsibilities:
Manage the payroll process for the Legal entities where there are active employees in Brazil
Liaise with the Payroll Vendor for Coordination and control of Payroll operations
Design and implement the required controls for the normal payroll operations, striving for a high level of accuracy according to existing metrics
Provide support to employees regarding inquiries that are payroll related
Liaise with HR team regarding to issues that would affect the payroll, i.e. Onboarding, Off boarding, Employee Relations, Benefits, others.
Liaise with Corporate Compensations for payroll related changes / inputs to the payroll
Reconcile and control the correct calculation and application of taxes, benefits and regulatory requirements in the payroll
Collaborate with HR Finance in the identification, assessment and implementation of initiatives to comply with financial requirements
Continuously look for opportunities to improve the Payroll process delivery and its outputs
Responsible of identifying, escalating operational risks in the Payroll process, and participate in the resolution of any risk issue
Coordinates the delivery of any payroll information requested from external and internal audits in alignment with regional manager
Actively participate in the implementation of regional and global initiatives, these might include and are not limited to: Software changes, Vendor changes, Risk assessments, Financial compliance initiatives
To be constantly updated and in charge of implementing any applicable changes in local and Corporate regulations that affect the payroll
Core skills and requirements
Bilingual Portuguese - English
Knowledge in taxes calculation related to payroll
Management of payroll and accounting systems
Process design skills, data-management and highly analytical
Advanced knowledge of Excel and BI tools
Ability to interact and deal with and across broad audiences in multiple locations, including challenging status quo
Reliable on managing highly confidential information
Good verbal and written communication skills
