LPN Urology
The Department of Urology is seeking a qualified LPN interested in working in our outpatient ambulatory care sites. This position offers direct and indirect patient care responsibilities and provides an opportunity to be a part of a growing team looking to improve efficiency and the overall patient, provider, and team experience.

The Montefiore Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the standard of practice for Nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing Social Policy Statement. The LPN participates in supporting our Urology Department while maintaining practice standards, clinical expertise, and demonstrating leadership skills and teamwork. The LPN demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on our Urology patient population served.  

Note: Position requires flexibility for shifts (days and time) dependent on operational need, as well as the ability to float and cover Urology offsite locations.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients.
• Performing point-of-care (POC) duties.
• Assisting providers and RNs with outpatient procedures (Cystoscopes, Prostate Biopsies, Urodynamics, Catheter Care, etc.).
• Administering medications.
• Providing patient education.
• Completing chart documentation per MMC policies and procedures.
• Assisting with patient forms and other administrative nursing tasks.
• Covering offsite locations as needed (parking provided).

Required

• NY LPN License & Registration
• BLS Card and Infection Control Certification
• High School/GED minimum
• Effective English communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal).
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems.
• Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care location as needed.

Shift Monday to Friday 0830A – 0500P
