If so, we want to hear from you!The Specialist, Investment Services (IAR) is a licensed, client facing advisor who provides personalized investment guidance, retirement planning support, and end to end account servicing for Nationwide clients and retirement plan participants. This role serves as a single point of accountability for advisory recommendations, rollover support, managed account guidance, and new account onboarding. Specialists drive asset retention, new money growth, and outside asset consolidation while ensuring an exceptional client experience and adherence to Reg BI and suitability standards.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized investment and retirement planning guidance.
Conduct needs based assessments and recommend appropriate products, including managed accounts and annuity solutions.
Lead retention and rollover discussions with existing customers of NSLLC and Retirement Solutions and manage complex and large-dollar cases.
Drive new money growth into NSLLC accounts; identify opportunities for consolidation of outside assets.
Complete new account applications, execute trades and money movement, and maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce.
Maintain assigned trade queue coverage and uncover additional client needs during service interactions.
Collaborate with Operations, Service, Suitability, Compliance, and Retirement Specialists to resolve complex issues.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
License/Certification/Designation: Series 7, Series 65, and Life & Health.
Experience: Three years of experience in financial services, sales, wealth management, or retirement planning services required; five years preferred. Experience in client-facing advisory, retirement transition support, or financial planning/needs analysis strongly preferred. Background in call center, client service, or high-volume client interaction roles beneficial. Demonstrated experience handling complex financial transactions or investment product discussions. Proven track record in sales growth, retention efforts, or relationship-building within a financial environment.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear client‑friendly language. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, deepen relationships, and lead nuanced financial discussions. Ability to conduct needs‑based assessments, analyze financial data, and deliver tailored recommendations. Comfortable working in a hybrid inbound/outbound call environment with strong follow‑through and case ownership. Proactive mindset with the ability to identify gaps, recommend enhancements, and collaborate across Operations, Service, Suitability, and Compliance teams.
