A Day in the Life
The Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) Strategic Costing FP&A team partners across Operations, Supply Chain, and business leadership to provide financial insights that support gross margin performance and long-term value creation. This team plays a key role in understanding, analyzing, and communicating product cost and gross margin drivers across the Cardiovascular portfolio, helping to inform business decisions and support strategic initiatives.This position is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and follows a flex work model with an in-office expectation of four days per week. Minimal travel is expected.
This position is critical to enable sustainable gross margin expansion while adding value through superior business partnering.
This role will work closely with GOSC and OU business partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for sharing real-time results, detailed product costing insights, and support strategic initiatives.
- Develop a deep understanding of product costs and key drivers of cost
- Gather historical information and summarize data to highlight gross margin trends
- Work cross functionally to collaborate and align strategies across GOSC and the Cardiovascular Portfolio teams
- Lead OU presentation of the GOSC impact on Gross Margin analysis and provide financial performance commentary to various levels of management
- Partner cross functionally in support of the AOP and quarterly forecasts, to ensure forecasts are accurate by OU and allocations/targets are clearly understood and consistently applied
- Work with OUs and Portfolio to increase visibility to cost drivers within the cost pools and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Lead cost roll reconciliation for specific OUs within the CV Portfolio, summarize impact of cost changes and review impact with cross functional teams
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years relevant experience (2+ years with an Advanced degree)
- Strong ability to partner with senior leadership and partner through others, facilitates decision-making activities, builds relationship networks at all levels, and leads change
- Strong financial analysis and accounting skills
Preferred Requirements
- Is a team player in a matrix structure
- Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating actionable insights and analysis
- Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Essbase/Hyperion & Business Objects
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
