Job Description:

Nextpower is looking for a Structural Engineer to join LATAM Project Engineering Team based in Brazil. Working directly with key accounts located throughout LATAM to manage day to day issues on utility scale PV projects from the development stage to construction support. The position will manage all decisions relating to Structural Engineering for Nextpower’s projects including but not limited to wind load calculations, steel design and component design, foundation design, and various other structural engineering tasks and decisions to support project quoting and calculation packages. Further this position will be interfacing with the rest engineering team located in the US, Mexico, Europe, Australia, and India as well as Sales, Project Management, and R&D teams at Nextpower’s offices around the world.

Reporting: Sr. Manager, Project Engineering, LATAM

Responsibilities:

• Produce civil and structural design documentation, including drawings and calculations

• Assist in project development phase, review pertinent site information, calculations, and cost estimation

• Prepare wind, seismic, foundation, and other structural calculations and sign/seal those if required

• Provide construction support; RFIs and submittals

• Assist in development of nextracker products, generate full understanding of nextracker product

• Coordinate with nextracker's Structural/Civil Engineers in other regions to create and update structural and civil standards, specifications, templates, and design tools

• Manage schedule and review structural and civil engineering consultants' works

• Assist in development of expanding Nextracker Design Services team.

Required Skills/Experiences:

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent

• 5 years of structural engineering work experience in the EPC industry

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and other structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, Lpile or equivalent)

• Thorough knowledge of engineering standards and codes including but not limited to: ABNT NBR, ASCE, AISC, AISI

• Significant work experience in structural analysis and design, including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, design of steel and concrete structures, and development of construction documents

• Programming skills in VB and python is a plus

• Fluent in English

• Fluent in Portuguese a plus

• Passion for solar/renewables industry

• Self-motivated team player.
