C# Developer with PHP Experience

Contract: 6 Months
Location: Hybrid / Centurion

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced C# Developer with exposure to PHP to join their development team on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing business-critical applications, integrations, and backend services.

This role is best suited to a developer whose primary expertise lies within the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, while also being comfortable working within PHP-based applications and supporting existing systems where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and .NET.
• Develop and support backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Enhance and maintain existing PHP applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across multiple systems.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and performant.
• Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Practical PHP development experience.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong SQL/database skills.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

Advantageous

• Angular, React, or JavaScript framework experience.
• Azure or cloud platform exposure.
• Docker and containerisation experience.
• CI/CD pipeline exposure.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale applications.

Candidate Profile

Ideally, we are looking for a strong .NET Developer who has worked with PHP in a commercial environment and is comfortable supporting both technologies as required. The primary focus is C#, with PHP experience being a valuable secondary skill.
