Associate Material Planner

Reporting to the Plant Supply Chain Manager, you will ensure material availability for plant operations by managing supplier schedules, delivery confirmations, inventory movements, and short-term material issues. You will partner closely with production scheduling, logistics, suppliers, and planning teams to support uninterrupted production, resolve material constraints, and provide visibility to execution risks that could impact manufacturing performance. As a member of the plant supply chain team, you will help translate approved supply plans into actionable material flow activities that support daily operations at our Council Bluffs manufacturing facility.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

• Monitor material availability and execution risks within the planning handoff window and escalate constraints to centralized planning teams. 

• Translate approved material planning and supply plans into daily and weekly call-off schedules for raw materials and packaging materials. 

• Confirm supplier and warehouse deliveries while maintaining alignment with production schedules and operational priorities. 

• Review planned, firmed, and open orders to ensure delivery dates, quantities, and priorities are ready for execution. 

• Resolve short-term material supply issues, including delivery changes, shortages, and scheduling adjustments, while providing visibility to planning teams. 

• Partner with planning, production scheduling, logistics, and warehouse teams to address material constraints and sequencing conflicts. 

• Coordinate raw material and packaging material movements between external storage locations and plant operations. 

• Work directly with suppliers to address delivery delays, shortages, and other execution-related risks. 

• Coordinate with plant logistics teams to support dock scheduling, warehousing capacity, and material arrival sequencing. 

• Identify and communicate master data concerns, including lead times, calendars, order parameters, and lot size issues, to the appropriate teams. 

• Support rapid response activities related to production interruptions, transportation delays, supplier disruptions, and changes in operational requirements. 

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts that enhance material flow, inventory management, and supply chain execution performance. 

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred. 

• 1 to 3 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, or a manufacturing environment. 

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred. 

• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams. 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify issues, and develop practical solutions. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Experience collaborating across multiple functions and partnering with external suppliers. 

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting operational needs. 

• Knowledge of inventory management, material planning, or production scheduling processes preferred.

You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination.  

You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size.  

This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

Compensation 

Pay Range:$59,000-$79,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
