Program Overview:    

  

When you join S&P Global Ratings, you join one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. You are part of a team that produces high quality fundamental research and ratings based on established criteria and benchmarks. This presents the opportunity for CREDit Program Analysts to be at the center of how investment decisions are made. You will have exposure to ask probing questions to senior corporate executives, and interact with the global investor community for one of the largest providers of credit ratings in the world. The Business Practice Groups include: Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure.    

  

Our CREDit Graduate Program is a two-year training and development opportunity, with our next intake joining us in September 2027. CREDit Program Analysts will work across various practices and teams to meet the evolving demands of the global market and business needs. This multi-disciplinary approach allows you to cultivate a versatile skill set while contributing to our most impactful business areas. All analysts combine practical work experience with the completion of a relevant qualification. For example, this could be an MBA or CFA.   

  

 

 

Responsibilities:  

  

Team Contribution & Capability Building   

• Build capability in credit, financial data, and tooling by applying feedback quickly and adopting standard ways of working that reinforce consistent, decision-ready outputs.   

• Contribute to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and lightweight automations that augment team judgement (not replace it) and reduce rework/improve turnaround time.   

• Proactively supporting others with strong attention to detail and issue-spotting, and contributing resourceful, creative ideas in collaborative team discussions.  

• Actively champion innovation and continuous improvement by questioning existing processes, leveraging new tools, and applying fresh perspectives to data and problem-solving.  

  

Core Analytical & Delivery   

• Partner with analysts and managers to deliver reliable execution, including clear status updates, early escalation of risks, and consistent follow-through to protect quality and trust.   

• Support and help maintain high-quality research and data packs using standard templates; use automation where appropriate to improve consistency while keeping human review of key facts.   

• Use approved LLM-powered tools as an enabler to accelerate research/summarization/first drafts, followed by human validation, correction, and explicit evidence capture.   

• Support analysts with recurring monitoring workflows by contributing to process efficiency/projects.   

• Collect, clean, reconcile, and validate data. Proactively identify inconsistencies, assess assumptions, and catch risks.   

• Support financial model maintenance.  

  

Stakeholder & Market Engagement   

• Monitor issuer, sector, and market developments and produce concise summaries with clear sourcing that help analysts move faster.   

• Turns data, analysis, and research into clear, actionable narratives for client and market engagement.   

• Understand the importance of cultivating a customer-oriented, solutions mindset and observe and learn from service excellence in action.  

  

Risk Management and Operating   

• Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements.   

• Support pilot/testing under supervision and within defined guardrails.  

  

  

What We’re Looking For:  

  

Education  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, completed by August 2027. A master’s degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued.   

• We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Math, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, Data and Statistics. This is as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking and storytelling e.g. Engineering and Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, Classics, Theology, English Language, English Literature and Languages.   

  

Team Contribution & Capability Building   

• Collaborative, dependable teammate who manages priorities well, communicates clearly, and delivers consistently in a partnership-led culture.   

• Learning mindset, comfortable adopting new tools to enhance quality.   

• Interest in automation and efficiency gains with clear controls and measurable quality outcomes.  

  

Core Analytical & Delivery  

• Ability and willingness to develop strength in research and data analysis, synthesizing information into clear, concise outputs that are decision-ready.   

• Strong spreadsheet skills; willingness to learn data/automation tools to improve reliability and consistency, not just speed.  

• Practical AI fluency: experience, or willingness to develop proficiency using GenAI/LLMs to augment your work, paired with strong validation discipline and judgement on when not to use AI to protect accuracy and confidentiality.  

  

Stakeholder & Market Engagement   

• Effective written and verbal communicator, able to present research and analysis in a clear, structured way that supports informed decision making.  

• Solutions-oriented mindset to provide service excellence to internal and external stakeholders.  

  

Risk Management and Operating   

• High standards for accuracy, traceability, and quality control aligned to Integrity.   

• Responsible technology use following policies, protecting confidential information, ensuring AI outputs are verified and appropriately attributed so insights remain trusted.  

  

Additional Information  

• Fluent command of English Language is essential, as is being fluent in the primary language of the country of application.   

• Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.  

• Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.
