As a Database Developer II at ICON, you will design and analyse clinical trials, interpreting complex medical data, and contribute to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.
What You Will Do:
Your role will involve delivering software development and engineering work to a high standard, working closely with your team and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining databases to support clinical research projects and data management activities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring compatibility and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Implementing data models, schemas, and structures to optimize data storage, retrieval, and reporting processes.
- Performing database performance tuning and optimization to enhance system efficiency and scalability.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for database-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to project timelines.
Your Profile:
You will bring relevant software development and engineering experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive SQL Experience:
Oracle database hands-on experience:
- Toad, PL/SQL, oracle SQL developer, etc.
- Created oracle objects, read, write, view, testing, performance tuning etc. for integrated data reporting
- Utilizing various data marts to bring data together for downstream systems per specifications (Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE, Client data exports)
- Extensive Experience with creation & using of table creation, procedures, functions, views, materialized views, etc.
Nice to Have:
CA Atomic;
IICS/PC;
Shell, Python scripting;
Unix/Linux
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Fluent Conversational English & written English for technical documentation
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking
Proactive & work independently as applicable
Precision and detail-oriented skills
Available late shift to overlap with EST Time Zone for a few hours.
