Description
Petit Psychiatry are looking for a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Virtual Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in a medical or healthcare setting and is comfortable handling administrative tasks, patient communication, scheduling, and electronic medical records in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and reminders.
- Answer and respond to patient calls, messages, and inquiries professionally.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) (Experience in Charm HR is a plus).
- Assist with patient intake, documentation, and follow-ups.
- Verify patient information and insurance details when required.
- Coordinate referrals, prescriptions, and medical records as directed.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support the healthcare team.
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA/privacy requirements.
- Complete other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience as a Medical Assistant, Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or similar healthcare role.
- Experience in a mental health or medical setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable using computers, EMR/EHR systems, email, and communication platforms.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional, dependable, and patient-oriented.
Work Schedule:
- 20–40 hours per week.
- Availability to work evenings (EST), weekends, and holidays as needed.
