JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position uses an electric powered pallet jack to help keep continuous production in bacon slice by transporting pallets of pressed bellies to bacon slice lines and moving sliced product pallets off the production lines into the proper cooler or freezer. Keep the bacon distributed evenly on the lines, take empty vats to the washroom and stack 80# empty pallets 8 high. Must communicate with line supervisor to ensure proper bellies are being supplied. Additionally, monitor cleanliness of the pallet jack, bring supply pallets out at the beginning of shift, and return them at the end of shift and weigh bacon pallets when a yield test is required and after changeovers. Complete maintenance inspection check list and distribute as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be out of probation period.
Attendance level requirements 4 points or less
No written warning or suspension in the last 6 months.
Selected candidate will be given a 2-week trial period.
Selected candidate must maintain 4 points or less prior to transfer into the position.
Must follow all Tyson safety policies.
Must be in current position for at least 6 months for a position that is not a promotion.
Must be able and willing to work weekends and overtime.
Must be able to wear proper safety equipment.
Must be able to complete and pass the Power Industrial Truck (PIT) training class and tests.
Must be able to understand safety rules and warnings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be able and willing to stand and walk throughout shift.
Must be able and willing to use hand to feel and handle product.
Must be able and willing to communicate with team members and management.
Must be able and willing to lift to 70 pounds.
May require bending and stooping.
