Description
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting SPFC’s fundraising operations by ensuring gifts and donor information are processed accurately and promptly, donors receive excellent service, and the External Affairs Team has reliable data and administrative support.

Position Responsibilities
Gift Processing and Reconciliation
- Enters and processes all gifts and contributions in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT within 48 hours of receipt, including checks, online contributions, electronic funds transfers, stock transfers, grants and contractual revenue, in-kind contributions, and other gifts.
- Completes deposit logs and reports for gift batches and regularly reconciles Raiser’s Edge gift records with the Finance Department.
- Processes and reconciles gifts received through third-party donation platforms and other external giving sources.
- Ensures gift acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, and tribute gift acknowledgements are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Identifies and helps resolve discrepancies related to gift processing and reconciliation.
Database Management and Reporting
- Maintains accurate and current constituent and gift information in Raiser’s Edge/NXT, including donor, community partner, and volunteer records and updates provided by constituents and staff.
- Ensures accuracy and consistency in constituent and gift coding, contact information, dates of support, historical information, notes, and other key data.
- Produces accurate recurring and ad hoc reports, queries, lists, and data exports to support fundraising, communications, and other organizational needs.
- Maintains Raiser’s Edge/NXT dashboards to provide useful at-a-glance fundraising metrics.
- Adheres to established gift-processing and database policies and procedures and assists with maintaining and updating those procedures as needed.
- Maintains proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT and pursues ongoing training to effectively leverage system capabilities, reporting tools, and best practices.
Donor and Community Support
- Serves as a first point of contact for community members and donors seeking information about contributing to SPFC.
- Maintains current knowledge of SPFC programs, giving opportunities, and relevant procedures to provide responsive and professional service.
- Responds to donor and community inquiries within the scope of the position and routes questions appropriately when additional assistance is needed.
- Handles donor and constituent information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Meetings, Events, and Team Support
- Provides logistical support for SPFC meetings, donor activities, and events, including event preparation, registration, data tracking, and gift reconciliation as needed.
- Provides administrative and operational support to the External Affairs Team and assists with other department or agency initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience involving database management, data processing, records management, gift processing, or a related function.
- Minimum of one year of experience providing customer service or support to internal and/or external stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT or a comparable CRM or fundraising database.
- Experience in nonprofit development, advancement, fundraising operations, or gift processing.
- Experience reconciling financial transactions or working collaboratively with Finance or Accounting.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
