Job Description

Traditionally, storytelling and data aren’t thought to go hand in hand, but our new business intelligence visualization engineer will be a champion of both.

In this role, you’ll shape how SAIF tells our story through data. You will help define our approach to data visualization, user experience, and analytics. You will transform complex data into meaningful and valuable narratives and create visualization standards and best practices. You will influence how SAIF’s leaders consume information and help them make informed business decisions.

  • Validate data accuracy and ensure reporting consistency through the use of certified data sources, business metrics, and governed semantic definitions.

  • Integration of various Data Sources through native and custom BI connectors.

  • Manage Tableau content throughout its lifecycle by following BI governance standards and overseeing publication, organization and maintenance withing Tableau server/cloud.

  • Establish and maintain secure access controls and data security practices, including role-based and row-level security, to protect enterprise analytics assets

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on designs

  • Provide training and guidance to users on dashboard usage and best practices

  • Apply data visualization, storytelling, UX/UI, and Tableau performance-tuning practices to create dashboards that are intuitive, accessible, scalable, and effective for both technical and non-technical users.

  • On-call support may be required on an as needed basis or part of a rotating schedule, including availability outside of business hours to support urgent IT issues or system implementations.

  • Explore diverse perspectives and consistently behave sensitively toward differences in cultural norms, expectations, and ways of communicating. Work effectively with others who have different perspectives, backgrounds, and/or work styles.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support team objectives and organizational goals, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in responding to evolving priorities and needs.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six or more years of experience in UI/UX design, business intelligence development, data visualization, and analytics solution delivery.

  • Experience designing intuitive dashboards, applying data storytelling and UX/UI principles, optimizing Tableau performance, influencing business decisions through data insights.
