Safety and Health Associate

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, participates in implementing safety and health programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and other national consensus guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists in implementing and coordinating safety programs. Researches accident data.  Prepares and provides senior personnel and upper management with summarized reports and recommends proactive solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents. Inspects facilities to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.  Reports violations to appropriate authorities to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner. Conducts periodic surveys and inspections of a single facility and equipment to comply with governmental regulations. Delivers safety training to assigned departments regarding routine safety procedures and precautions Assists in compiling and analyzing company data to assess regulatory compliance.  

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in environmental health or safety or related field preferred. 2 or more years of health and safety experience. Experience with working with federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations, preferred. Experience with working with control and prevention theories, principle, and practices, preferred. Experience working with software and data processing applications related to health and safety, preferred.

Organizations and planning skills. Analytical and problem solving skills. Communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to interact professionally with various levels of employees and the public. Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory codes and standards.

Office or field environment. Physically fit to perform duties of the position.

       

Compensation Details:

75,000
