PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
- The successful candidate will participate in a structured mentorship programme designed to develop supervisory competencies across both Production and Warehouse operations. The role focuses on gaining practical experience in managing people, processes, safety, quality, inventory control, and operational performance while ensuring seamless coordination between warehouse, coil logistics, and production activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensure jobs are planned, scheduled, produced, and dispatched in accordance with customer requirements and service level agreements.
- Support the effective supervision of Production and Warehouse operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
- Ensure production facilities are adequately staffed to meet operational requirements.
- Coordinate the timely receipt and availability of raw materials in line with production schedules.
- Support machine operators in achieving operational targets and maintaining Gold Status performance standards.
- Ensure the continuous supply of raw materials and the efficient removal of finished goods to prevent production delays.
- Develop and maintain effective collaboration between Coil Logistics and Production teams to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.
- Manage reverse logistics activities and ensure accurate tracking of materials and stock movements.
- Support the implementation, optimization, and effective use of the AWM Warehouse Management System.
- Receive, process, and receipt stock accurately on the D365 system using scanners and warehouse technology.
- Ensure all coils, raw materials, and finished goods are correctly identified, labelled, and traceable in accordance with company standards.
- Coordinate stock transfers and order movements to export and storage areas.
- Conduct receiving, checking, and dispatching of vehicles and materials.
- Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and performance management matters.
- Promote compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to employees.
- Conduct training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), safety standards, and operational best practices.
- Facilitate employee performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational costs, resource utilisation, quality standards, and on-time delivery performance.
- Stay abreast of technological developments and manufacturing best practices to drive operational excellence.
- Support continuous improvement, Kaizen, and digital transformation initiatives within the business.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of operational consumables and resources, including pallets, felt, strapping, carpets, packaging materials, and other production-related items.
