Job Purpose

Executes support to operations, handling queries or closing sales. May use standard scripts and follow specific guidelines and procedures. Understands when to seek help and/or escalate to a more senior role. Typically requires full familiarity with the call center systems and thorough knowledge of the products and services.

Responsibilities

Product/Service Information

Provide basic product/service information and respond to basic customer questions about the product/service.

Customer Needs Clarification

Interview the customer, using a simple standard sales script, to clarify the customer's requirements.

Resolving Customer Issues

Respond to basic customer issues.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data

Enter customer name and address into the CRM system at point of purchase to ensure that the organisation has the relevant information to support follow-up sales and service actions.

Sell Customer Propositions

Explain product features and standard terms of sale to the customer and invite them to make a purchase.

Customer Service

Provide basic customer service support, such as data input, filing or photocopying. May also exchange basic information with customers by having courteous interactions with them.

Operational Compliance

Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.

Personal Capability Building

Develop and maintain excellent skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Work according to an assigned schedule.

Education

Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential); Degree that is Business Related (Essential); Statistics or Analytics Related Degree/ Web Development/ CMS training (Advantageous)

Experience

Very limited work based experience (0 to 3 months). None
