Clinical Nurse Manager -  Scrub/Scout I St Andrews War Memorial Hospital   

  • Employment Term: Permanent Full Time   

  • Location: located opposite Roma St Parklands, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital is just a short walk to Brisbane city

St Andrews War Memorial Hospital are seeking to appoint a Clinical Nurse Manager to provide clinical, operational and professional leadership across our Scrub/Scout Services.  

Leading a large, multi-disciplinary team, you will oversee the ongoing delivery and development of procedural services across our 15 Theatres – applying your operational knowledge, leadership capability and communication skills to effectively lead your team to success.  

You’ll collaborate effectively with other healthcare leaders in the hospital, working together to deliver optimal patient-outcomes through exceptional clinical care.  

A diverse role, you will:  

  • Achieve optimal patient outcomes and objectives through effective leadership and direction Lead your people through identifying opportunities for development, learning, and improvement.  

  • Support safe and efficient operational management of Scrub/Scout services. 

  • Drive workforce planning, recruitment, staff development, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives. 

  • Champion quality, safety and clinical governance through accreditation readiness, risk management and quality improvement activities. 

  • Monitor service performance, workforce utilisation and operational outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Collaborate with medical staff and hospital leaders to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes. 

  • Lead service improvement, innovation and digital health initiatives that support best-practice perioperative care. 

  • Ensure effective resource allocation, budgeting and financial stewardship to meet service objectives 

  • Build a cooperative working environment between members of a multi-disciplinary team, applying your skills to build a high functioning and outcome focused unit

As an advanced Clinician, you will demonstrate exceptional skills in Perioperative nursing, a passion for people leadership and strong patient advocacy. 

You’ll present with: 

  • Significant clinical experience within a perioperative environment 

  • Ability to lead a team to deliver contemporary, evidence-based patient care 

  • Expertise and skills in managing a cost centre budget and people management 

  • Advocacy and contribution towards quality initiatives and improvements 

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent nursing qualification / AHPRA Registration 

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Clinical Speciality 

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Management desirable 

  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
