Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We are looking for a Fiber Optic Cable Jointer who will be based at our Milan office but will spend most of their time working on assignment at onshore and offshore project sites.
The Fiber Optic Cable Jointer is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power distribution systems and their associated auxiliary systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform safely new construction, maintenance, and repair activities on live and de-energized underground systems, as well as their associated auxiliary systems, particularly in the field of fiber optics.
- Lead the team and represent the company in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Effectively manage pre-job briefings and operational meetings.
- Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of fiber optic systems (splicing and testing) and be able to assist Cable Power Jointers in their activities.
- Frequently work on high-voltage systems (up to 400 kV) with competence and diligence, ensuring the safety of oneself and others.
- Safely operate and maintain company equipment and tools.
- Carry out all other related duties necessary to complete the work.
- Monitor the work performed by team members.
- Perform splicing and termination of both terrestrial and submarine fiber optic cables, as well as HV/EHV cable jointing and termination activities, while minimizing failure rates.
- Assist with or supervise the installation, testing, and monitoring of HV/EHV cables as required.
Experience, Skills & Abilities
- Technical Diploma (preferably in Electronics and Telecommunications).
- Valid Category B driving licence.
- Basic knowledge of the English language.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Previous experience in the fiber optic field.
Travel: Up to 45 weeks per year

What we offer you:
- Contract Type: Fixed-term contract for 6 months (renewable and/or convertible into a permanent contract)
- Work Location: Milan
- National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL):Gomma e Plastica Electrical Cables and Related Industries
- Job Classification and Grade: Blue-collar worker – Grade H–F* as provided for under Gomma e Plastica CCNL
- Minimum Gross Annual Salary: €24,000**
- Travel Allowance and Overtime Compensation: based on the geographical area in which the employee performs their duties. Please note that these aspects will be explained in detail during the interview process.
- Mobility Requirement: willingness to travel for more than 45 weeks per year is required.

**The salary indicated refers to the minimum level established for the role. Given the operational nature of the position, which involves frequent business travel, the total compensation package may be significantly higher due to the applicable travel allowances and additional compensation components provided for under relevant regulations and company policies.
