Description

The Mixing & Blending Operator is responsible for the safe handling, mixing, blending, packaging, and shipping of chemical products while maintaining Brenntag's commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. This position requires a safety-focused individual who can work independently after training, maintain high attention to detail, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of coworkers at all times.

  • Follow all Brenntag safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

  • Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and incident investigations as required.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.

Operations & Production

  • Safely mix, blend, package, and handle chemical products according to established procedures and specifications.

  • Accurately complete production documentation and quality control checks.

  • Monitor product quality and promptly report any discrepancies or concerns.

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner while following all operating procedures.

  • Maintain attention to detail to ensure product accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Material Handling

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

  • Load and unload trucks and process incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Receive, store, and move products within the facility.

  • Stack, move, and handle bags weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs) on a regular basis.

  • Assist with inventory management and warehouse organization.

Teamwork & Reliability

  • Arrive on time and maintain a dependable attendance record.

  • Work effectively with minimal supervision once training has been completed.

  • Support coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with other duties during slower operational periods.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers when required.

On-Call Responsibilities

  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

  • Once fully trained, employees will be required to be available for 24-hour emergency call-outs for seven (7) consecutive days every three (3) weeks on a rotating schedule.

  • Respond to operational or emergency call-outs in a timely and professional manner.

  • All call-out work will be compensated at applicable overtime rates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

  • Ability to work safely in an industrial chemical environment.

  • Ability to lift and stack 25 kg (55 lb) bags repeatedly.

  • Forklift operating experience.

  • Shipping and receiving experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions throughout the year.

  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility to support emergency and on-call requirements.

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Assets

  • Previous experience in chemical handling, blending, or manufacturing operations.

  • Knowledge of warehouse, shipping, and inventory processes.

  • Previous experience working in a regulated industrial environment.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.

  • Overtime may be required based on operational demands.

  • Emergency call-outs are compensated at applicable overtime rates.

  • Participation in the rotating on-call schedule is required after successful completion of training.

  • Comprehensive training is provided by Brenntag.

  • All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is supplied by the company.
