The Role:
The Manager, Plant Finance is a strategic partner providing financial decision support and cost accounting expertise for the Kulim Plant. This role is integral to the plant's operations, working closely with the Plant Director and other key personnel to ensure robust cost accounting processes and operational analysis.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Financial Support: Connect operational performance to financial outcomes, offering strategic direction to enhance plant performance.
Performance Improvement: Provide actionable recommendations to improve site performance.
Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead monthly and annual forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with operational, divisional, and corporate goals.
Cost Management: Establish standard costing rates and collaborate with operations to update material costs, BOM, and routings.
Productivity Projects: Partner with operations to identify, execute, and report on productivity initiatives.
Decision Support: Offer financial support for ROI calculations on capital projects and review/explain variances.
Reporting & Accountability: Deliver timely plant results and drive accountability.
Month-End Close: Complete month-end close tasks, ensuring financial statements conform to GAAP, including inventory valuations and reserve amounts.
Internal Controls: Ensure internal controls are established and maintained, fostering a strong control environment.
Financial Training: Provide financial education, training, and guidance to non-finance employees.
What We Seek:
Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in accounting/finance.
5-10 years of experience in cost controlling within the manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding of financial concepts and US GAAP accounting principles.
Familiarity with financial planning and reporting systems; SAP experience preferred.
Strong written and spoken English skills.
