Description
Adjust pressure, temperature, flow rates, and purity parameters to support the production of oxygen and nitrogen. Record day-to-day operating parameters of ASP equipment and LPG storage and handling equipment and check any defects or failures during the shift and notify the Shift In-Charge.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Record daily checks and note parameters of Air Separation Plant equipment including centrifugal air compressors, oxygen compressors, chilled water equipment, Liquid Oxygen turbine, cold box, Liquid Oxygen pump, Liquid Nitrogen pump, and storage facilities and check safety requirements for air separation plants.
• Handle preventive maintenance with Mechanical Technicians as per servicing plans and check jobs during planned down days and corrective maintenance activities under safety norms.
• Handle tasks and duties assigned by the superior.
• Carry out shift activities in Water Treatment Plant (WTP) including sand filter backwash and water blowdown.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations by providing accurate failure observations, field-level feedback, and execution insights, contributing practical knowledge of equipment behavior and maintenance conditions. Apply approved preventive actions and updated maintenance tasks resulting from RCA outcomes.
• Perform inspection, preservation, and functional testing of critical spare parts stored in the warehouse, in accordance with defined procedures, checklists, and schedules, ensuring spares remain reliable, protected, and ready for installation when needed.
• Accurately record maintenance execution data in SAP, including work performed, failure symptoms, parts replaced, and observations, ensuring factual, complete, and timely information to support equipment history, analysis, and maintenance plan improvement.
• Handle operation and process tasks of the Air Separation Plant.
• Adjust oxygen and nitrogen parameters as required by the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle Furnace (LF) processes and check Air Separation Plant (ASP) process conditions.
• Check technical and safety parameters of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage facilities and of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) handling equipment including LPG compressors, storage tanks, hot water boilers, of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) pumps, evaporators, and pressure-reducing stations. • Handle Air Separation Plant (ASP), Water Treatment Plant (WTP), compressed air plant, and LPG storage system operation
• Assist coordination with EAF, LF, and caster teams to manage demand.
• Assist coordination with other departments and check team requirements.
• Carry out daily shift activities and check operation and maintenance problems.
• Check system leaks, compressors, and storage tanks.
• Handle emergency power failure activities in WTP, CAP, ASP, and LPG storage systems.
• Record oxygen purity, output, and alarms.
• Check and record instructions from Management.
• Record field readings of ASP, WTP, CAP, and LPG storage system as per log sheet and notify any abnormality.
• Handle safety steps during unloading of LPG from mobile tankers to storage tanks.
• Clean equipment, tools, and work areas by removing combustible materials and handle cleaning after maintenance jobs.
• Handle safe shutdown and startup of the oxygen plant.
• Handle liquid oxygen and nitrogen safely during tanker unloading.
• Handle safe unloading of LPG tankers in storage tanks.
• Check compliance with safety directives issued by Management.
