ABOUT THE JOB
As the Lausanne Movement helps focus the global church on what the task of world evangelization looks like as 2050 comes into view, effective use of data and digital systems is increasingly important to how Lausanne understands and serves its global network, supports its programs and gatherings, and equips teams across the Movement.
The Data and Systems Specialist will support the effective use and careful handling of data across Lausanne. Working under the direction of the Data and Technology Lead, this role will help maintain Lausanne's data systems, implement integrations and automated workflows, provide reporting and analysis, and support teams in making effective use of organizational data.
Note: This is a full-time position and may be located anywhere in the world where there is a reliable internet connection and sufficient flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management & Quality

Maintain the quality, consistency, completeness, and reliability of data across Lausanne's systems.

Perform data cleaning, validation, transformation, deduplication, and reconciliation as required.

Manage data imports, exports, migrations, and bulk updates.

Identify data quality issues and work with the Data and Technology Lead and relevant teams to resolve underlying causes.

Support the implementation of data standards, structures, and governance practices.

Handle confidential and sensitive information according to organizational policies and appropriate security practices.
Data Systems & CRM
-
Support the day-to-day administration and effective use of Lausanne's key data systems, including CRM (Salesforce), Email Marketing (Mailchimp), Registration, Selection, and related platforms.

Configure and maintain fields, forms, workflows, reports, views, and other system components as required.
-
Support internal users with data-related questions, troubleshooting, and effective system usage.

Investigate system and data issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
-
Assist with testing and quality assurance when systems, workflows, or integrations are introduced or modified.

Maintain documentation and support training for internal users of Lausanne's data systems.
Integrations & Automation
-
Build, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations and automated workflows between Lausanne's systems.

Work with REST APIs, webhooks, automation platforms, and other integration technologies.
-
Map and transform data between different systems and data structures.
-
Monitor automated processes and proactively investigate failures, inconsistencies, or unexpected results.
-
Identify repetitive data processes that can be simplified or improved through automation.

Work with the Data and Technology Lead to implement scalable and maintainable solutions.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
-
Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for teams and organizational leadership.

Provide accurate and timely ad-hoc reporting from Lausanne's data systems.

Use SQL, spreadsheets, CRM reporting, and other analytical tools to extract, validate, and analyze data.

Ensure reporting metrics are accurate, consistent, and appropriately defined.

Help teams understand and interpret their data and translate analysis into useful insights that support decision-making.
Digital & Engagement Analytics
-
Support analysis of Lausanne's digital experiences, including web, email, registration, events, and other participant touchpoints.
-
Measure audience engagement, conversion, participation, and campaign performance.
-
Work with relevant teams to ensure appropriate data is available for measuring digital initiatives.

Provide recurring and project-specific reporting to help teams understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
AI, Automation & Emerging Technology
-
Use AI tools responsibly to improve data analysis, documentation, operational workflows, and productivity.

Assist in developing and maintaining AI-enabled workflows and data processes where appropriate.

Explore practical applications of emerging technologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Lausanne's data operations.

Test and document new approaches before broader implementation.

Follow appropriate privacy, security, and data governance requirements when working with AI tools and organizational data.
Project & Team Support

Support the Data and Technology Lead in delivering data and technology projects across the organization.

Translate defined requirements into technical tasks and practical implementation.

Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and volunteers as required.

Track assigned tasks, dependencies, issues, and deliverables using appropriate project management tools.

Participate in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or other delivery processes used by the team.

Maintain clear technical and process documentation to ensure systems and workflows are understandable and maintainable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Demonstrated competency with databases, CRM systems, data integrations, reporting, and related data technologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Working knowledge of SQL or similar query languages.

Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets.

Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, automation platforms, and system integrations.

Experience with CRM platforms; Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with email marketing, registration, event, or constituent management systems.

Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly, with an openness to emerging technologies.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
-
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
-
Minimum 3+ years of relevant professional experience in data, analytics, CRM administration and reporting.
-
2+ years of Experience working with APIs and tools such as Salesforce, Google Workspace, SQL, data visualisation platforms, automation/integration tools, and project management systems is preferred.

Experience working within a multinational organization or international nonprofit environment preferred.
