JOB SUMMARY: The Residence Life & Housing Office Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for visitors to the Campus Life office and provides administrative support for Residence Life & Housing and Living-Learning & New Student Programs. This role supports day-to-day office operations, assists with planning and executing programs and events, and helps maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Serve as front-desk ambassador: greet visitors, answer questions, and direct guests to appropriate campus resources.
- Manage incoming communications: answer phone calls, take and return messages, and respond to general email inquiries.
- Provide administrative support: photocopying, scanning, filing, data entry, managing supply inventory, and maintaining office organization.
- Assist with events and programs: support planning, marketing, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus life events and student programs.
- Run campus errands and perform general office tasks as needed (e.g., mail distribution, campus deliveries).
- Maintain sign-out logs, reservation calendars, and basic tracking spreadsheets as directed.
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment in all interactions and communications; work respectfully and collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Google Workspace preferred).
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Pay Grade: SP Student 1, starting rate $13.75
