Role Overview
This role combines Compliance & Ethics legal advisory, Responsible AI governance and risk management, and cross-border regulatory support to enable ethical, compliant, and policy aligned operations and technology adoption across Japan and China related matters.
The role serves as a trusted advisor to business, legal, and technology stakeholders, ensuring that legal, ethical, regulatory, and AI related risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and documented across business activities and AI solution lifecycles. The position operates at a manager / associate manager level, balancing hands-on execution, governance leadership, and stakeholder enablement within a global operating model.

- Enable responsible and compliant innovation across advanced technologies and AI solutions
- Translate global policies and standards into practical, locally applicable guidance for Japan and China impacted work
- Strengthen governance maturity, audit readiness, and decision transparency
- Build risk awareness and accountability across business, legal, and technology teams
Core Responsibilities
Compliance, Ethics & Cross-border Legal Advisory
- Support the Team Lead manage and deliver services to global Ethics & Compliance Team as per direction from E&C team, address questions by business and Leadership, provide E&C tailored guidance including but not limited to Business, Delivery, and Finance Teams, Be PoC for E&C process issues, Recognize issues and provide timely escalation to E&C Leadership, Counsels, or appropriate stakeholders, in a precise and concise manner; Research and monitor global regulations related to E&C area
- Ensure compliance with E&C internal policies, and procedures; Develop and deliver trainings inside the E&C Team and across Accenture to spread E&C related awareness amongst Business and regional stakeholders; Ensure general understanding of E&C process within/outside the team
- Provide advisory support across Ethics & Compliance domains, including anti‑corruption, AML, data privacy, trade compliance, government compliance, and competition law
- Address and advise on Japan and China related compliance matters, including:
- Application of region specific compliance policies and regulatory requirements
- Cross-border data, technology, trade, and ethics considerations affecting region engagements
- Coordination with global and regional Legal, Compliance, and E&C stakeholders on Japan and China cases
- Review documentation, business activities, and delivery matters with ethics, compliance, and geopolitical risk implications
- Identify compliance risks, propose mitigations, and escalate issues appropriately to Legal/E&C leadership
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments relevant to Japan, China, and cross‑border operations
- Support audits, quality reviews, and evidence‑based compliance reporting
Responsible AI Governance & Risk Management
- Lead end‑to‑end Responsible AI risk assessments, accelerate local initiatives, and ensure policy‑aligned, compliant AI adoption across Japanese stakeholders and clients.
- Translate global Responsible AI and AI governance frameworks into Japan aware operational guidance
- Define and embed AI guardrails and controls across data, model, and solution lifecycles in collaboration with Legal, Privacy, Security, and Technology teams
- Support readiness against global and regional AI regulations and standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, ISO/IEC 23894, EU AI Act awareness, and region-specific expectations)
- Monitor post deployment AI behavior (performance drift, misuse, adverse impacts) and drive remediation and continuous improvement
- Mentor local business teams on Responsible AI practices, tools, and documentation standards; champion culture of safe, transparent AI. Act as RAI advocate for the country
