About the Role
The principal purpose of this role is to support the Head of AML Operations in managing the planning, execution, tracking and governance of strategic AML initiatives, with particular focus on AML-related AI model projects, operational transformation, stakeholder engagement, resource coordination and departmental administration.This role combines business analysis, project management coordination, stakeholder management and operational support responsibilities.
The Manager will act as the central project lead to coordinate AML AI model initiatives, track milestones, manage risks and dependencies, facilitate requirements gathering, support billing and resource tracking, organise governance forums and ensure timely follow-up of actions across internal teams, vendors and AIA market stakeholders.
The role is expected to develop a strong end-to-end understanding of AML Operations, technology-enabled AML controls, service delivery requirements and stakeholder priorities. As part of succession planning, the incumbent will be progressively exposed to broader departmental management responsibilities, including operational oversight, people coordination, management reporting, issue resolution, governance, and preparation to assume future leadership responsibilities within AML Operations.
- Lead and coordinate AML-related AI model projects, including planning, execution, progress tracking, risk and issue management, milestone reporting and delivery governance across AML Operations, Compliance, Technology, OPEX, vendors and relevant AIA markets.
- Perform business analyst responsibilities by facilitating requirements gathering, documenting business needs, translating AML operational requirements into functional specifications, supporting workflow design, coordinating UAT planning and maintaining user guides, training materials and operating procedures.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and project communications, including organising governance meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking actions, escalating key decisions, managing dependencies and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders, external vendors and senior management.
- Support resource planning, billing coordination and departmental administration, including tracking project spend, monitoring resource needs, coordinating onboarding logistics, maintaining project records and ensuring administrative deliverables are completed on time.
- Provide support and advisory for ongoing AML Operations activities, including SLA monitoring, operational issue tracking, process improvement, change management and coordination of new service onboarding or process migration activities.
- Prepare management updates, project dashboards, performance metrics and governance reporting for the Head of AML Operations and relevant stakeholders, ensuring clear visibility of progress, risks, issues, decisions and next steps.
- Support internal audit, external audit, regulatory inspection, risk control and compliance-related information requests by coordinating inputs, maintaining evidence and ensuring timely follow-up of remediation actions.
- Acting/ back up for the Head of AML Operations as part of the succession planning activities, including team engagement, knowledge transfer, capability building, meeting coordination and ad hoc initiatives required to strengthen future leadership readiness.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related discipline. Professional certification in project management, Agile, business analysis, compliance or AML will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience across project management, business analysis, operations management, governance coordination or transformation delivery, preferably within financial services, insurance, compliance, AML/CFT or technology-enabled operations.
- Experience in managing cross-functional projects, coordinating vendors, preparing governance updates, tracking risks and issues, documenting requirements, supporting UAT, and engaging stakeholders at multiple levels of seniority.
- Working knowledge of AML/CFT operations, name screening, alert clearance, compliance controls, AI-enabled process transformation or model governance will be an added advantage.
- Strong project management, business analysis, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Able to organise meetings, prepare clear documentation, follow through actions, manage priorities and work independently under tight timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management tools and generative AI tools to enhance productivity, reporting and operational effectiveness. Demonstrates leadership potential, learning agility, sound judgement, resilience and readiness to build future capability for departmental succession planning.
