This position serves as an Operations Coordinator for the Capitol Campus. Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation’s capital. The Operations Coordinator provides critical customer service as well as support for facilities, security and guest services coordination at the Level 1 reception desk of 111 Massachusetts Ave. The position provides hands-on, in-person interactions and requires excellent customer service skills while interfacing with staff, students, faculty and visitors of the Capitol Campus.

 

The incumbent will work closely with the other Operations Team members to ensure support and transparent transitions for external guests and students. The position requires intimate knowledge of all programming offered at the Capitol Campus, daily operations, security protocols, and will serve as liaison to staff, students, faculty and visitors at 111 Mass. The position may require light manual labor. Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance is desired. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations for the Capitol Campus, this position supports Georgetown’s goal of high stakeholder satisfaction. The Operations Coordinator supports the Operations Team on all aspects of successful campus-wide operations, focused specifically on making sure customer service and security is provided at the highest level during all shifts.

 

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation


● Daily interaction with other Operations Coordinators, Sr. Director of Operations, GU staff, students, faculty and visitors;

● Close collaboration and communication with GUPD;

● Communication with facility vendors and housekeeping staff;

● GU Leadership

 

This position has been designated as On-Campus. Requirements and Qualifications


● High School Diploma and up to 2 years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred;

● Two to four years of progressive administrative experience in educational setting preferred;

● Demonstrated ability to provide very high levels of customer service, professionalism and time management skills; ● Knowledge of University offices, computers and financial systems is desired;

● Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable responding to telephone and email inquiries;

● Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.);

● This position must also demonstrate proficiency in the use of University protocols and student policies;

● The ideal person will have strong problem-solving skills, time management skills, attention to detail, strong oral and written communications skills, enthusiasm and ability to work effectively under pressure. This individual must be a detail-oriented team player and able to manage multiple tasks.

● Strong interpersonal skills required. A friendly, helpful demeanor along with a willingness to enforce the University’s policies are crucial for this role.

 

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$19.20 - $28.70

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
