Power Automate & Accounting Process Automation Consultant
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Consultant with strong expertise in Power Automate Desktop, Power Automate Cloud, Power Apps, and AI-enabled automation solutions to help our Accounting team identify, design, and implement automation opportunities across a variety of manual accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical automation expertise and business process knowledge, with the ability to translate accounting requirements into scalable automation solutions. Experience working directly with accounting and finance teams is highly preferred.
This opportunity is available within the next few weeks and may be performed remotely, although occasional on-site collaboration would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Accounting stakeholders to assess and document existing manual processes.
- Identify automation opportunities and recommend solutions using:
- Power Automate Desktop (RPA)
- Power Automate Cloud Flows
- Power Apps
- Microsoft AI and Copilot capabilities
- Other Power Platform components as appropriate
- Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and process controls.
- Leverage AI tools to evaluate business requirements and accelerate solution design.
- Create process maps, technical documentation, and user training materials.
- Work closely with accounting personnel to ensure solutions align with operational and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing Power Platform solutions as needed.
- Recommend best practices for governance, security, and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience developing solutions with:
- Power Automate Desktop
- Power Automate Cloud
- Power Apps
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Experience implementing robotic process automation (RPA) solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently gather requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience using AI tools, Copilot, or other AI-assisted development approaches to improve solution delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Accounting, Finance, or Shared Services organizations.
- Familiarity with accounting terminology, workflows, and controls, including areas such as:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Reconciliations
- Journal Entries
- Financial Reporting
- Month-End Close Activities
- Knowledge of ERP systems and integrations.
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
- Experience facilitating process improvement and business transformation initiatives.
