Devops Engineer

About the team 

You will be part of our Cloud DevOps Team, working closely with various Technology teams – overseeing Application systems, architecture, design, data workflow, logical processes, and system interfaces. Assure synergy between software and hardware architecture to maximize that relationship. Determine and develop architectural approaches and solutions, conduct business reviews, document current systems, and develop recommendations on how to proceed with the applications. Responsible for ensuring optimal application and system performance. 

What You will be doing 

• Extend, improve and implement a process to automatically create Kubernetes clusters for our clients on AWS running our applications.  

• Shape the topology/structure of the Kubernetes cluster and the services we deploy in it on AWS. 

• Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes.  

• Expert in implementing an auto-scaling system for our Kubernetes nodes. 

• Understand all aspects of security in relation to Kubernetes.  

• Operations or systems administration experience, particularly on Linux and Windows.  

• Provide code, templates, scripts and configuration files for the Kubernetes infrastructure 

• Write well-structured and clean code in line with DevOps development processes.  

• Implement and evolve monitoring and alerting for Kubernetes.  

• Implement and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines. 

• Work closely with internal teams to understand and capture their requirements.  

• Support engineers using the cluster and deploying new services and applications as the application and development evolves.  

• Cloud computing (AWS) and its security, automation and manageability. 

• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes build, deployment and production process.   

• Ongoing analysis of the underlying infrastructure, either it is development or production, in relation to security, automation and application architectures and suggest improvement of existing capabilities.  

• Additional responsibilities, as assigned.  

What you bring 

• 4+ years of working experience in Kubernetes deployments in the cloud (preferably AWS) using repeated processes resulting from Infrastructure as WCode (IaC) and monitoring and alerting tools.  

• Knowledge of the following technologies: Git, Harbor, ArgoCD, Docker, Jenkins, Prometheus, Nexus, Grafana, AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Route53, Load Balancing.  

• Experience working in Agile and SCRUM based mode projects. 

• Experience of resolving complex issues in creative and effective ways, handling situations that requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Be able to exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.  

• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. 

Added Bonus if you have 

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). 

• Any AWS certification will be considered an advantage.
