Description

Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000

Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support team and/or department business objectives. Generally works under limited supervision, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.

Finance & Accounting – Context of Role

The Resort Operations Finance team at MVW is on a multi-year journey to build a team designed for impact, not transactions. We've made our roles outcome-based: you'll own decisions and create value as a trusted finance business partner embedded with site resort leaders and Boards members driving revenue, adjusted EBITDA, and cost management outcomes. With transactional work, e.g. AP, AR, month-end, reconciliations, audits, and billing, handled by our external managed service provider, you'll focus on delivering insights, ensuring governance, and achieving results. Success is measured by impacts across multiple properties giving you broad exposure and meaningful participation.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Finance (Assistant DOF) – Resort Operations is an emerging, field-based finance leader who serves in a supporting role to a Market Director of Finance (MDOF) within a market of up to 12 resorts.

The Assistant DOF performs resort operations finance responsibilities, e.g., financial business partnership to resort leaders, financial guidance and support to property owner association board members, and financial oversight for up to five small associations within a market allowing a MDOF to focus on larger, more complex properties. Operating in a model where core accounting and transactional activities are delivered through Shared Services via a Managed Service Provider (MSP), the ADOF translates financial information into actionable insights and assists in identifying and executing revenue and savings opportunities.

The ADOF helps ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley, MVW policies, and association governing documents, while building professional capabilities expected of a future field-based Director of Finance role.
