Seattle Pacific University is hiring a Chemistry Lab Coordinator to support the teaching mission of the Chemistry Department by ensuring that all instructional labs are prepared, safe, and well-equipped. • Maintain clean and organized lab spaces; perform minor repairs on instruments.
  • Monitor lab inventory and coordinate orders for supplies and equipment with the Lab Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Biology lab coordinator to coordinate shared equipment usage.
  • Perform annual tasks such as a deep lab cleaning, physical inventory of chemicals and glassware, and complete required RCRA and DOT trainings.
  • Assist with biology lab coordination and supply/equipment pickups as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager

What will you bring?

We're looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience in a chemistry lab, either through academic coursework or professional roles.
  • Familiarity with scientific equipment, including pH meters, balances, micropipettes, and Spectronic 20s.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Comfort supervising and mentoring student workers.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 40 - 50 pounds.
  • A personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and a willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.

Compensation and benefits: $24.00 - $25.50 per hour, DOE

This position works full time for 10 months and then half time for 2 months during the summer. Chemistry coordinators are offered the SPU benefits package for full time employees that includes:
