Data Analyst
The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector.
Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and
sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
What We Do:
We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy
solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey
design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating
solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages
to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
Team Overview:
The Contracts department oversees the delivery and execution of projects from initial mobilisation
through to completion and handover. Acting as the bridge between design, commercial, and onsite teams, the department ensures that all contractual obligations are met while maintaining high
standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. With a focus on planning, resource coordination, and
problem-solving, the Contracts team plays a key role in ensuring our projects are delivered on
time, within scope, and to the satisfaction of our clients.
Role Overview:
You will play a key role within the business unit, supporting the preparation
of accurate reporting and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will be responsible
for managing and analysing data to support data driven decision making within the business
unit. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data tools, and the ability to
communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll be Doing:
• Clean, transform, and prepare data using Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and other
relevant tools.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to ensure comprehensive
and accurate reporting.
• Explore and analyse data to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate
them into effective dashboards and reports.
• Conduct statistical analysis to support business hypotheses and decision-making.
• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualisations in Power BI.
• Lead “Show & Tell” sessions and provide training on developed reports and
dashboards.
• Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to resolve reporting challenges and improve
data processes.
• Support ad hoc data requests and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the development of data documentation and reporting standards.
What You Need to Have:
• 1–2 years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and data modelling.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Familiarity with Power Automate and its applications in workflow automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. SharePoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present insights to non-technical
audiences.

• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
What You Would Ideally Have:
• Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering,
Mathematics, or Business).
• Strong SQL knowledge and hands on experience, including writing queries, building
data models, and implementing SQL solutions in a similar analytical or reporting role.
• Previous experience in construction, engineering, or data centre environment.
