Senior Database & Engineering SME / Technical Architect – Level 8
Role Overview
We are looking for a senior technology leader and SME with deep expertise across databases, cloud, application engineering, architecture, and modernization. The candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership for complex enterprise transformation programs and act as a trusted technology advisor to clients and senior stakeholders.
The role combines hands-on technical depth, architecture leadership, consulting, innovation, and team leadership. The candidate should be capable of defining enterprise-scale technology strategies and leading complex technical transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the senior technical authority and SME for database, data, cloud, and application engineering.
Define enterprise-level database and application architecture strategies.
Lead complex database modernization, cloud migration, and application transformation programs.
Establish technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
Evaluate database technologies and recommend the appropriate platform based on workload, scalability, performance, cost, security, and business requirements.
Lead architecture decisions across SQL, NoSQL, distributed databases, and cloud-native data platforms.
Provide technical leadership for large-scale database migrations and modernization programs.
Define strategies for:

Lead architecture reviews and technical governance.
Provide technical direction to multiple engineering teams and senior technical resources.
Engage with client CIO/CTO/Chief Architect-level stakeholders and provide technology recommendations.
Lead technical workshops, discovery sessions, architecture assessments, and modernization roadmaps.
Drive development of PoCs, accelerators, reusable assets, and industry solutions.
Identify and implement opportunities involving GenAI, Agentic AI, Vector Search, RAG, and intelligent automation.
Support business development through solutioning, proposals, estimates, technical presentations, and client demonstrations.
Establish engineering standards and best practices across projects.
Coach and mentor Level 7 SMEs, architects, and senior engineers.
Collaborate with hyperscalers, technology partners, and database vendors.
Drive technical innovation and contribute to the organization's technology strategy and capability development.
