Driver

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Driver, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.38 - £20.10 per hour

Summary:

We are looking for a Driver / Cleaning Operative to support environmental cleansing services throughout the year. The role involves weed removal during the weeding season, supporting the leaf clearance team during the leafing season, and providing cover for drivers and street cleaning operatives. You will operate manual and mechanical equipment while helping maintain clean and safe public spaces.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out weed removal using manual and mechanical equipment.
• Support seasonal leaf clearance operations and street cleansing duties.
• Drive a 3.5-tonne caged tipper vehicle to transport equipment and waste.
• Sweep streets, empty litter bins, and maintain public areas to a high standard.
• Provide cover for drivers and cleaning operatives as required while following health and safety procedures.

Essentials:

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
• Ability to undertake manual outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Experience using manual and mechanical gardening or cleansing equipment.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Flexible approach to seasonal duties and operational requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake all required training.
