We are seeking a Risk Analyst, who will join our Risk Management team at our corporate office in Weatogue, CT.

The Risk Analyst works to ensure consistent management of all property related incident reports and supplemental documentation with company goals, policies and procedures, assuring all accompanying and supporting documentation is incorporated into the final archived incident file. This role requires close collaboration with external third parties and various internal departments.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the intake, review, maintenance, archive and tracking of property incident reports, working with internal and external stakeholders to obtain supporting documentation, ensure complete records, and escalation of certain matters to appropriate leadership when necessary.
• Support the Vice President of Risk Management in the collection, coordination, and communication of information with internal and external parties related to claims and litigation involving fee-managed properties.
• Support the Vice President of Risk Management in the collection, coordination, and communication of information with internal parties related to claims and litigation involving internal Vesta claims.
• Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities for all Vesta-Hettig owned and managed properties, tracking insurance claim proceeds on the incident report tracker.
• Conduct weekly audits of incident reporting records to ensure supporting files align with incident tracker entries and that data is complete, accurate, and reliable for analysis and reporting.
• Schedule and facilitate regional incident review meetings throughout the quarter to discuss incident trends, emerging concerns, and potential solutions.
• Conduct post-incident reviews to evaluate reporting, documentation, response, and overall handling of incidents. Identify successes and opportunities for improvement and communicate findings and recommendations to Regional Management when appropriate.
• Facilitate recurring external partner live monitoring AI touchpoints as the program expands into additional markets, supporting alignment between the external vendor, Property Operations Team, and Risk Management Team.
• Monitor and analyze recurring incidents, patterns, and emerging activity trends to assist Risk Management and Property Operations leadership in identifying potential exposures and areas requiring additional attention.
• Conduct monthly internal staff incident reporting training sessions through the Learning and Development department onboarding schedule. Provide take-away training materials to participants at conclusion.
• Develop and maintain training materials, reference guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen incident-reporting policies and practices.

Administrative Responsibilities and Projects:

• Perform general administrative functions including sorting mail, filing, copying/scanning, mailing, faxing, and records management, while supporting special projects and other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Risk Management.
• As assigned, manage and maintain Risk Management's SharePoint files, ensuring records are complete, accurate, current, and readily accessible.
• Manage assigned loss control special projects and portfolio-wide initiatives.
• The Risk Analyst should complement the Vice President of Risk Management through the following: Builds relationships with Property Managers, Regional Managers, and external parties
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
• May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, Adobe.
• Have basic knowledge of legal contracts and certificates of insurance or prior working experience in the insurance industry.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree is required for this job and 2 to 4 years of experience.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening required.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
