POSITION SUMMARY: 

CVS Health’s Supply Chain is seeking a WMS Strategy & Central Team Leader to oversee the enterprise-wide Warehouse Management System (WMS) rollout across multiple distribution centers (DCs).  This role owns the end-to-end success of Warehouse Management System initiatives across the enterprise. This role ensures seamless deployment and adoption by overseeing system readiness, technical integration, and operational preparedness across all distribution centers.

The position drives standardization of processes, develops and executes change management strategies, and leads comprehensive training programs to build capability and confidence among DC leaders and associates. This role also establishes governance frameworks to ensure compliance and consistency, provides leadership for post-go-live support and continuous improvement, and fosters collaboration across IT, supply chain, PMO, inventory teams and DC operations teams to deliver a smooth transition and maximize system performance.   

This role also is responsible for risk mitigation that impacts the success of the initiative. Success in this position requires strategic leadership, deep operational and WMS expertise, and the ability to manage large-scale technology implementations while driving stakeholder engagement and business continuity.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Program Strategy and Execution

  • Own the multi-site WMS implementation roadmap aligned to corporate objectives and timelines.
  • Chair central governance forums; establish decision-making frameworks, risk thresholds, and escalation paths.
  • Lead execution across all phases: Design, Configuration, Testing, Training & Change Management, Deployment, and Post Go-Live Hypercare. Set entry/exit criteria per stage gate; ensure deliverables, approvals, and readiness are met before advancing.
  • Own cutover and stage gate decisions in partnership with executive sponsors, site leadership and PMO.
  • Define and maintain design standards and operational principles for all sites. Foster standardized processes, configurations, and SOPs across rollouts to reduce variability.
  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned and reusable assets (templates, checklists, test suites).

Site Readiness & Deployment

  • Assess readiness (people, process, tech, infrastructure) and lead remediation plans to ‘go-live’ quality standards.
  • Direct site execution during mock runs, pilots, and phased deployments.
  • Stand up Hypercare teams; define roles, SLAs, and escalation protocols for stabilization.
  • Responsible for risk management impacting the success of the rollout.
  • Responsible for WMS health metrics: Monitor trend data, throughput, and quality metrics; implement corrective actions and process adjustments.
  • Transition sites to steady-state support with documented playbooks and ownership.

Team Leadership & Resource Management

  • Manage program budgets, forecasts, and variance; ensure cost efficiency and value realization. Negotiate and manage vendor SOWs and change orders.
  • Leads, develops and recruits central team resources based on phase needs to include, DC Operational leader, OpEx, Technonolgy, Inventory Control, Systems, PMO, Inventory planning ,Trainers,  Hypercare leaders and project support team members
  • Establish performance expectations; coach for capability building and succession.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Educate DC leaders on operational implications of WMS; drive adoption and manage resistance.  Develop communication plans and readiness metrics for end-users, leads, and managers.
  • Provide executive-level briefings and site-level huddles to maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Integrate efforts across Operations, IT, Engineering, Training/Change, and Finance to deliver cohesive outcomes.
  • Align program dependencies (data, interfaces, infrastructure) and resolve cross-team blockers quickly. Coordinate with vendor/partners to manage configuration, integrations, and issue resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Strong leadership and ability to influence across multiple sites and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep operational knowledge of warehouse processes, WMS platforms, and Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS); demonstrated experience leading Manhattan WMS implementations, upgrades, or enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Prior experience with large-scale technology implementations
  • Deep operational knowledge of warehouse processes and WMS platforms.
  • Expertise in implementation planning, readiness assessment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Excellent collaboration and good written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with DC Leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading enterprise-scale WMS transformations across multiple distribution centers within retail, healthcare, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, or high-volume distribution environments.
  • Proven success implementing and optimizing Manhattan WMS integrated with automation, labor management, transportation management, and inventory control systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, productivity, and throughput enhancements within warehouse and supply chain operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
