Description
Position Summary: The 3rd Party Reviewer evaluates case history and needs to ensure safe progress, service compliance, and a focus on permanency. They are a neutral party responsible for conflict resolution, problem solving, and maintaining objectivity about the process – while staying focused on the best interest of the child, family, and permanency.
- Attend and participate in Service Plan Reviews and Long Stayer Reviews, in a family-centered practice approach, with permanency planning in mind.
- Coordinate schedules and meetings to include key voices. Strive to host face-to-face meetings whenever possible.
- Know case history and dynamics to provide effective case planning guidance.
- Coordinate internal communication and tracking for accountability and collaboration.
- Objectively evaluate Service Plans to ensure local, state, and federal laws and timelines are being adhered to.
- Objectively mediate conflict with creative problem solving.
- Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Knowledgeable about Child Welfare, NYS OCFS, the legal system, and permanency planning.
- Knowledgeable about local and state resources.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in foster care, child welfare, or case management required.
- Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.
